GREAT FOR DAYTIME GOOD WIDEVIEW PICTURE,NO NIGHTVISION IN DARK,VERY LITTLE WITH STREET LIGHTS,DON’T BUY FOR NIGHTVISION
Rating: 3 / 5
i upgraded the cameras on my q-see quad dvr security camera system. these cameras have a better picture than the stock qsm2018(w). the 74 degrees of view is far superior to the stock cameras. the ir leds arent as bright as the stock cameras which is a drawback. but the image alone is clear and the colors are vivid.

Pros:
Small footprint
Easy mount to ceiling / wall
Decent daytime image if lack of contrast in field of view
Cons:
Lack of adequate IR light array
Poor night vision – very grainy night image
Cannot distinguish facial characteristics at night past short distance
Sunlight past carport entrance completely washed out 1/4 of viewing area in daytime
Overall, very disappointed with camera image quality. My Swann Bulldog far superior, although much smaller field of view. I am changing this camera out for a Clover HDC560.

Have planned a home surveillance system and bought a Q-See 8-camera kit.
My calculations are that the QD28414W cameras have a 48 deg field of view only,
not the 74° advertised. From 20′ away, the view is 9′ in each direction at right angles.
Calls to Q-See would not explain the discrepancy.
