One Response to “Lorex 15″ Networkable Observation System w/4 Cameras”

  • I purchased this observation system to replace my aging quad system. I stayed with the same brand since the last one operated 3 years running 24/7. This one has far more bells and whistles and I am optimistic that it will last even longer. Here are some key points:

    1) The camera lens is 6mm. So it is zoomed in too much for my use. I swaped two of the cameras with a MACE CAM53CIR using a Lorex adapter. That camera has a wide angle lense and more IR LEDs. The two Lorex cameras needed to be mounted much farther back.

    2) The cameras have fantastic image quality. Even at night it will pick up a little color too.

    3) A BNC looper is build in so a multi-channel DVR can be directly connected.

    4) Four cameras are included and can be watched in quad mode. But four more can be added if needed.

    5) Software is included to setup the system for internet viewing. There is no cost for the web service. But you need a static IP or else it will need to be reconfigured each time.

Honestly it is a fantastic system. However, if I would do it again then I would probably buy just the monitor and seperately purchase 4 MACE CAM53CIR cameras and Lorex adaptors. That would cost alot more, but it would be perfect for my needs.
